The quiet, bright and spacious 2-room apartment in a historic building is placed in the rear building on the ground floor and provides 5 places to sleep.
The big room gets its charm by a beautiful hardwood floor and the old-Berlin stucco on the ceiling. A big 200x200cm sized bed is ready for beautiful Berlin dreams, as well as a single bed (90x200cm) if required. Further furniture is a sofa with table and wicker chair, TV, radio, wardrobe and a storage rack.
The second, slightly smaller, room is equipped with a 140x200cm bed, a desk, storage rack and a small seating area.
From the corridor, you can reach a modern shower bath and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen (fridge, coffee machine, electric water boiler, stove, dishes ...) with a seating area right at the window. From all windows, there is a view at the bright, leafy inner courtyard, in which you can find during the summer aside from a birch tree, roses, and flowers a cosy seating area for your use.
Parking is possible for a fee in front of the house. 500 metres from there parking is free.
The apartment is part of a historical Berlin building (period of promoterism) in the beautiful Schöneberg, at the boarder to Wilmersdorf. This part of Berlin is still one of the preferred places to live in Berlin. From here you can reach the famous KaDeWe at Ku`Damm by an only 7 minute walk. The Wittenbergplatz gives you connections to several north-south and east-west connections by the Berlin Public Transport (BVG), which means that you can reach all the interesting sites of Berlin via subway, bus or fast-train without the slightest effort. The Potsdamer Platz for example is only 4 subway stations away. Just outside the apartment, right around the corner you find the Viktoria-Luise-Platz with a beautiful fountain, lawns, playground, nice little cafes, bars and restaurants, a little supermarket and a subway station. Further places worth to see are only a short walk away: • the Winterfeldplatz with its neo-Gothic St.Matthias Church and its famous weekly market which was the alternative centre of Berlin in the late 70s/80s. • the Nollendorfplatz and its surrounding, setting of Erich Kästners „Emil and the detectives“ (1929). Today this part is known as the centre of the gay community of Berlin. • the Golzstraße with its many small shops, boutiques, second hand bookshops, bars and restaurants. • the Ku`Damm with its Gedächtniskirche, which was destroyed for the most part in the second world war. This part is the old centre of Berlin. • the “Bavaric Quarter”, with its area wide monument by the artists Renata Stih and Frieder Schnock (1993) as a reminder for the murdered Jewish residents in the second world war. (The signs show on the one side pictures, symbols or pictograms, on the other side excerpts from the Nazi laws, which marked the disfranchisement of the Jews in Germany.) Berlins exhibition centre “Messe Berlin” is only 5,5km away and easily reachable by car or public transport in only 10 to 20 minutes.
